Evviva l'allegria! E chi non vorrebbe cavalli non morti, vermi e sorci come animali domestici, dico io?
Loved how creepy this is and the fact that it's not just about the horror, it's also about the process of war. I would prefer it with breaks between the paragraphs for better internet readability, but it was worth the whole extra click to add indents.
This is amazing..... I was quite literally enraptured. I didn't even hear the timer on the oven go off while I was reading it, the voices of the bloody Russians drowned out the incessant beeping emanating from the kitchen. Which I was sitting in. So, long story short, you did an amazing job. You should listen to War songs more often, if this is the product! ♥ Once again, great job.
Oh, it's quite alright. Squash doesn't taste that good anyways. Plus, I enjoyed your poem much more than I would have enjoyed a meal that wasn't slightly burned. XD Oh, and have you ever heard "Sgt. McKensie?" It's an old Scottish song about war that my dad has suddenly discovered a fetish for.
I am quite positive this one was at the peak of the playlist back then: [link] And such classics as Ich hatt'einen Kameraden, because my brain must have interpreted the line: He lay to my feet, as if he were a piece of me in the most literal, decaying sense possible.
I am a military historian, Russian language major, training to be a combat arms officer. This is, simply, excellent. I like where your head was for this and I'll be remembering it every 11 November hereafter. Thank fuck for DailyDeviations or I wouldn't know this existed.
